Tok Thompson was born and raised in rural Alaska. At the age of 17, he began attending Harvard College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. He received a Master’s degree in Folklore from the University of California, Berkeley, and three years later received a PhD in Anthropology from the same institution. After receiving his PhD, Tok engaged in a two-year postdoctoral position with the Centre for Irish-Scottish Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, where he helped launch a new M.Phil. in Translation Studies. He also researched Irish language traditions in County Fermanagh, and taught classes for the University of Ulster. In the Fall of 2006, Tok came to USC, where he has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in folklore and related topics. Additionally, he has taught folklore as a visiting professor at universities in Northern Ireland, Iceland, and Ethiopia. While in graduate school, he co-founded the journal Cultural Analysis: An Interdisciplinary Forum on Folklore and Popular Culture, which he co-edited for 15 years. From 2013-2017 he was the editor for Western Folklore. He has recently published two books: one of his own research entitled Posthuman Folklore (2019) and another (co-authored with Gregory Schrempp) a textbook on World Mythology entitled The Truth of Myth (2020). He currently edits the book series Myth in Theory and Everyday Life for Oxford University Press.

Kevin D. Randle, PhD retired Army lieutenant colonel, served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and an intelligence officer in Iraq. He retired from the Iowa National Guard in 2009 after a distinguished military career. Randle holds degrees from the University of Iowa, California Coast University, and American Military University and has taught at both the community college and university levels.

His interest in UFOs began in his teens and has led him to investigate hundreds of sightings, including nearly 30 years of research into the Roswell incident.

Dr. Richard B. Spence is a Professor Emeritus of History of the University of Idaho. His academic specialties include Russian history, espionage, secret societies and occultism. His major published works are Boris Savinkov: Renegade on the Left, Trust No One: The Secret
World of Sidney Reilly, Secret Agent 666: Aleister Crowley, British Intelligence and the Occult, and Wall Street and the Russian Revolution, 1905-1925. He has authored numerous articles in such journals as Revolutionary Russia, New Dawn, Intelligence and National Security, and American Communist History. He is also author and presenter of three video series for The Great Courses/Wondrium, The Real History of Secret Societies, Crimes of the Century and Secrets of the Occult. He’s also appeared in Wondrium’s The Secret World of Espionage and True Crime: Decoding the Evidence and is a frequent interviewee and consultant for other programs including America’s Book of Secrets, UnXplained and the Penny Royal Podcast.

He holds an appointment at Harvard Medical School, has studied energy healing, meditation and hypnosis for over 40 years, and has had 50+ articles published in leading scientific journals. He has also edited three textbooks, and his documentary film about group energies and sports, The Joy of Sox: Weird Science and the Power of Intention, was broadcast on PBS. The Mystery of Life Energy is his latest book.
